Finding the Model and Serial Tag on a Panelled Sub-Zero

A panel-ready Sub-Zero hides its badge behind the cabinetmaker's work, so the kitchen tells us very little. The tag does. It carries the model and serial number, and the model number alone says the series, the width and the hinge side.

Where the tag is, series by series

PRO 48 (PRO4850, earlier 648PRO)	Inside the cabinet, to the left of the upper freezer drawer.

Pulling the drawer out to its stop is usually enough to see it. A photo of the tag on a phone is as good as reading it out.

Reading the model number

Letters at the front name the line, the numbers give the width, and the letters after them describe the layout and features.

So a DET3650CI is a 36-inch Designer tall unit with refrigerator, freezer and ice maker. The hinge suffix matters to us more than to most: it tells us which side the door and panel weight hang from.
