About
A shop that only
fixes cold things.
Independent, Bellevue-based, and deliberately narrow: built-in and integrated refrigeration, nothing else.
Appliance repair is usually sold as a general trade. One van covers ranges, dishwashers, laundry and refrigeration, and the technician arrives at a five-figure built-in having last worked on a dryer. What follows is often not dishonesty — it is unfamiliarity, and it gets billed to you as parts.
We took the opposite approach. Refrigerators, freezers, ice makers and wine storage, all of it built-in or integrated, is the entire scope of this shop. It means we see the same handful of failure modes over and over, across the same model families, until the diagnosis stops being a search and becomes recognition.
That has practical consequences for you. Shorter visits, because the fault is usually identified in the first twenty minutes. Fewer parts, because we are not covering uncertainty by replacing the expensive component that might be it. And a straight answer about whether a repair is worth doing, which is a much easier answer to give when nobody here sells replacements.
We are not an authorized Sub-Zero service centre and we do not claim to be. We are an independent shop that has chosen to be very good at one category of machine, working across Downtown Bellevue, Bridle Trails, Somerset, Crossroads and the rest of Bellevue.
How a visit goes
Three stages, every time
-
Measure
Both compartments logged, airflow read at the evaporator, the defrost circuit put under test and the door seals checked. Numbers first — every wrong diagnosis we have ever seen started with someone skipping this.
-
Explain
You get told what failed, why that part fails on this model family, and what it costs in parts and labour. If the honest answer is that the machine is at the end of its life, you get that instead — with the reasoning.
-
Prove
The unit is run back down to spec before we leave and the readings are shown to you. Panels go back to the reveal they had, floors stay protected, and the packaging leaves with us.
Standards
What we hold ourselves to
-
Sealed-system certified
EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling, and the gauges and recovery equipment to do the work properly rather than guess at it.
-
Built-in refrigeration only
No ranges, no dishwashers, no laundry. One category of machine, worked on every day, which is why the diagnosis is usually finished before the second cup of coffee.
-
Price agreed first
A written number for parts and labour before a panel comes off. If the repair turns out to be smaller than quoted, the invoice gets smaller too.
-
Cabinetry respected
Floor protection, panel removal by hand, and units returned to their exact reveal. A repair that scratches the cabinetry around it is not a repair.
If you want the honest read on whether yours is worth repairing, ask for it.
