Sub-Zero Repair in Lakemont, Bellevue

When a Sub-Zero panel in Lakemont sits out of line with the cabinet run, the adjustment lives in the brackets behind it, not in the panel. Level before cams

Sub-Zero’s installation guide is plain on this point: the unit is levelled to the floor, not to the cabinetry around it, and a unit set level is less likely to need its doors or drawers adjusted. When a panel has drifted, the first question is whether the cabinet beneath it still stands true. The legs are set from the front with a driver on low torque, and the guide warns against turning them by hand. Adjusting a panel on a leaning unit only hides the lean.

What the cams do

Each panel hangs on mounting brackets. Side to side, the panel is moved and its mounting screws tightened. Up and down, and in and out, belong to cams on the brackets. With the bracket screws slackened a little, a wrench rotates each cam until the reveal is right, then every bracket screw is snugged down once more. We make those moves with every door and drawer closed, because that is the state the reveals are read in.

Why the gap matters

Sub-Zero treats a 1/8-inch reveal as typical and warns that as the gap between unit and cabinetry narrows, a closing door can pinch fingers badly. A reveal that has closed up is a safety question as well as a visual one, and it lets a door bear on its neighbour.

The installation guide also sets a maximum weight for each panel size. A panel over that limit will not hold a setting however carefully the cams are turned, and we say so plainly.

A Lakemont visit, in order

The tag first, for the model and the panel limits that go with it. Then the level, then the cams, then a paper strip round the door to confirm the seal survived the adjustment. We quote the adjustment before making it, and the $89 service call goes against that quote.
